- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 8 oz sliced mushrooms
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
Instructions:
Put chopped onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper in a bowl
Add the ground beef and mix it all together
Mix it well, then make 4 patties that are all the same size
Put olive oil in a big skillet and heat it over medium-high heat
Place the patties in the pan
Cook for four to five minutes on each side, or until they are browned and fully cooked
Take it out of the pan and set it aside
Put minced garlic and sliced mushrooms in the same pan
For about 5 minutes, cook until the mushrooms are soft
Add the flour to the mushrooms and mix them around to coat them
Just a minute or two
Slowly add the beef broth to the pan while stirring all the time to avoid lumps
Turn the heat down to low and cook for about 5 minutes, until the gravy gets thicker
Add the heavy cream and season with pepper and salt to taste
Put the patties back in the pan and add gravy on top of them
Add two to three more minutes of cooking time until everything is hot
If you want, you can top the hot hamburger steaks with chopped parsley and mushroom gravy
